Vinification
Cecilia is a rosé from Gut Oggau, made from a mix of white and red autochthonous varieties of Burgenland. The winemaking is minimalist: spontaneous fermentation, minimal intervention and very low sulfur content. The wine reflects the Tscheppe family's philosophy — each cuvée personifies a character from the Gut Oggau 'family', and Cecilia is young and lively.
Winery Story
Gut Oggau is a small biodynamic estate in Burgenland, founded by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe in 2007. The estate works strictly along Demeter principles, using horses to work the soil and completely avoiding chemistry. Each wine in the range bears the name of a member of a fictional 'family' and reflects the individual character of a specific plot.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie on limestone-schist soils near Lake Neusiedl, where the continental climate is moderated by the lake's humidity. The vines average more than 50 years of age, providing a deep root system and natural balance. Biodynamic farming lets the soil and the garden's ecosystem live in harmony.
