Vinification

Pajorè is a cuvée from the eponymous vineyard in Treiso, one of Barbaresco's key crus. The wine is aged in large oak casks (botti) to preserve the varietal purity of Nebbiolo and the character of the terroir. The approach is traditional, focused on elegance and longevity.

Winery Story

Cantina Rizzi was founded in 1974 by Ernesto Dellapiana in the commune of Treiso, in the heart of the Barbaresco zone. Today his children Jole and Enrico run the estate, keeping a traditional Piedmontese approach focused on the terroir expression of individual vineyards; Rizzi farms over 35 hectares and ranks among the respected producers of the appellation.

Vineyard Story

The Pajorè vineyard lies in the commune of Treiso at around 350 metres above sea level. The soils consist of limestone and bluish clays (tufo), characteristic of this part of Barbaresco, lending the wine pronounced minerality and freshness. The Treiso microclimate shapes a more refined and aromatic Nebbiolo style than the more 'powerful' Barbaresco crus.
