Vinification

Vietti's Barolo Castiglione is an assemblage of Nebbiolo from vineyards in the commune of Castiglione Falletto. The winemaking is classic: extended maceration, ageing in large Slavonian casks (botti). The style balances tradition and elegance, preserving a pronounced terroir character of the zone.

Winery Story

Vietti is one of Piedmont's icons, a family winery in Castiglione Falletto whose history reaches back to the 19th century. Under Luca Currado Vietti and the Krause family, the estate combines deep respect for tradition with a precise, modern approach to winemaking. Their Barolos from individual crus are considered benchmark expressions of the Langhe terroir.

Vineyard Story

The vineyards lie in the commune of Castiglione Falletto — at the heart of the Barolo zone, on Helvetian soils with a high content of limestone and marl. This terroir lends the wine structure, vertical drive and a characteristic minerality. The Castiglione cuvée reflects the typical 'classical' style of this commune: powerful yet refined.
