Vinification
A light Burgundian Pinot Noir, with minimal cellar intervention and a short maceration to preserve freshness and fruitiness. Ageing is most in old barrels or neutral vessels so as not to overshadow the variety's delicate character. Low alcohol and fresh acidity point to an early harvest and a light style.
Winery Story
Chapuis & Chapuis is a small Burgundian domain working in the style of village winemakers, with an emphasis on terroir expression. The producers keep to a gentle approach in the winery, avoiding excessive manipulations in the cellar. The Montrecul cuvée name nods to a playful Burgundian tradition of giving place names unexpected nicknames.
Vineyard Story
The fruit is grown on Burgundian soils with the limestone subsoil characteristic of the region, which gives the wine pronounced minerality. The 2023 climate was warm but kept enough acidity thanks to night-time temperature swings. The terroir shapes a light, elegant style typical of village Burgundies.
