Vinification
Pinot Noir from Fruška Gora — a region with a moderate continental climate and varied soils. Winemaking generally aims at preserving the variety's delicate fruit profile with moderate oak use. Light extraction and careful handling of the fruit allow the subtlety of the terroir to come through.
Winery Story
Sagmeister is a small Serbian winery working on the slopes of Fruška Gora in Vojvodina. The region has a long winemaking tradition, and the producer focuses on international varieties adapted to the local terroir. The approach is geared towards varietal purity and a restrained style.
Vineyard Story
Fruška Gora is a mountain range in Vojvodina, Serbia, with a mild mesoclimate and varied soils — loess, clay and loam. The altitude of the vineyards and the nearness of the Danube provide diurnal temperature swings that favour the preservation of acidity and aromatics in Pinot Noir. The region is regarded as one of the most promising for fine red wines in Serbia.
