Vinification
Tinto from Dominio del Águila is a field blend from old vines including Tempranillo, Albillo, Bobal and Garnacha Tinta, co-fermented and aged in oak barrels. The winemaking is aimed at minimal intervention while preserving the natural expression of the Ribera del Duero terroir.
Winery Story
Dominio del Águila is the project of winemakers Jorge Monzón and Isabel Rodero, founded in 2010 in La Aguilera (Burgos). The estate specialises in working with old-vine vineyards of Ribera del Duero, following organic and biodynamic farming with minimal cellar intervention. The wines quickly earned international recognition for their authenticity and terroir expressiveness.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie at 900–1000 m altitude in the municipality of La Aguilera, where a continental climate with sharp temperature swings ensures slow ripening and the preservation of acidity. Old bush vines, many of them more than 60–80 years old, yield small crops with a concentrated but delicate expression. The soils are limestone-clay with stony inclusions, giving the wines minerality and elegance.
