Vinification

A Chardonnay from the Jura, aged in oak barrels with minimal intervention. The Jura style allows moderate oxidative ageing that gives the wine a nutty complexity. Minimal sulfite additions are typical for small Jura producers.

Winery Story

Plume is a small Jura producer working in the region's traditions, with an emphasis on natural winemaking and terroir expressiveness. The winery follows a minimalist approach, letting the wine reflect the character of the local limestone soils. The estate's detailed history is little known outside the region.

Vineyard Story

The vineyards lie on the blue marls and limestones characteristic of the Jura, which give the local wines a recognisable minerality. A continental climate with cold nights provides the high natural acidity of Chardonnay. The Jura is one of France's most distinctive regions, with a unique terroir.
