Vinification
Furmint from Fruška Gora is a rare grape for Serbia, historically associated with the Tokaj region. Most fermentation takes place in stainless steel or neutral vessels to preserve varietal freshness and minerality. The style focuses on fruit purity and bright acidity.
Winery Story
Baša is a small Serbian winery on the slopes of Fruška Gora, working with local varieties and grapes unconventional for the region. The winemakers focus on expressing the Fruška Gora terroir through minimal cellar intervention. The estate represents the new wave of Serbian winemaking, focused on quality and experimentation.
Vineyard Story
Fruška Gora is a unique mountain range in Vojvodina, isolated among the Pannonian plains, with limestone and loess soils. A continental climate with moderate summer temperatures and good night-time coolness allows acidity to be preserved in white varieties. Furmint here finds conditions similar to Tokaj's, but with its own mineral character.
