Vinification
Claus Preisinger works in a natural-winemaking spirit, intervening minimally in the process. Weissburgunder ferments on wild yeasts and ages without excessive oak use, with minimal sulfur additions. The result is a living, textural wine with a pronounced terroir character of the Burgenland soils.
Winery Story
Claus Preisinger is one of the key figures of natural winemaking in Austria, working in Burgenland. His estate is run along biodynamic principles with an emphasis on minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. Preisinger is known for his philosophical approach to wine as a living expression of place and time.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie around Gols on the shore of Lake Neusiedl, where a unique microclimate shapes wines of characteristic minerality and freshness. The cuvée name refers to the earth, air, grass and vine — the four elements that define the character of the terroir. The soils here are a mix of loam, gravel and limestone.
