Vinification
A traditional-method sparkling wine (méthode champenoise) from Malvasia, aged on lees in bottle. The estate is known for its uncompromising biodynamic approach and minimal cellar intervention, which gives the wine a lively, natural character. Dosage is very low or zero, preserving the variety's natural acidity and freshness.
Winery Story
Clos Lentiscus is the family biodynamic estate of Manel Avinyó and his daughter Núria at the historic Can Ramon farm in Sant Pere de Ribes, in the Garraf hills of Penedès. Demeter-certified and focused on native varieties, it is regarded as one of the pioneers of natural winemaking in Spain.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie in the El Garraf subzone on limestone soils close to the Mediterranean coast, at about 300 metres above sea level. The Mediterranean climate and sea breeze give natural freshness and minerality, and the native varieties — including Malvasia — are perfectly adapted to local conditions. The vines are tended without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides.
