Vinification
The wine is made in a classic Burgundian style with partial destemming, fermentation in open vats and ageing in oak barrels, some of them new. Méo-Camuzet is known for precise, terroir-driven cellar work with minimal intervention. The cuvée style reflects the character of the Fixin appellation — more structured and serious than the neighbouring village wines of the Côte de Nuits.
Winery Story
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates, based in Vosne-Romanée. The domaine was restructured by Jean-Nicolas Méo in the late 1980s under the mentorship of the legendary Henri Jayer, which set its philosophy of precise, terroir-driven winemaking. Today the estate owns outstanding parcels across the Côte de Nuits, including Grand and Premier Cru sites.
Vineyard Story
Fixin is the northernmost commune of the Côte de Nuits, with a more austere character than the more southerly appellations. The soils here are limestone-clay with good drainage, giving the wine structure and a mineral strictness. The vineyards lie on east and south-east facing slopes, shaping an elegant yet substantial style.
