Vinification

The cuvée 'Babba IV' is built on a rare combination of autochthonous and historic Fruška Gora varieties — Furmint, Mézes Fehér, Sremska Zelenika and Grašac. The winemaking is in a minimalist style with an emphasis on preserving natural acidity and varietal character. The wine is aged without long oak contact, to underline its freshness and terroir expressiveness.

Winery Story

Oscar Maurer is one of the pioneers of natural winemaking on Fruška Gora, working with local and half-forgotten autochthonous varieties of the region. His approach is built on respect for the traditions of Srem viticulture and minimal intervention through the production process. Small volumes and hand work allow each wine to achieve high expressiveness.

Vineyard Story

Fruška Gora is a low mountain range in Serbia long known for viticulture, dating back to the Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian era. The soils here are mainly loess and clay-limestone, giving the wines a characteristic minerality and freshness. Sremska Zelenika is genuinely local, found almost exclusively in this region.
