Vinification
Classic Burgundian vinification from Pinot Noir with fermentation in open vats and ageing in oak barrels, some of them new. Clos de la Comme is one of the larger and more respected Premier Crus of the Santenay appellation, yielding structured yet elegant wines. The Borgeot style is marked by precision and fidelity to the terroir, without overdone extraction.
Winery Story
Domaine P&L Borgeot is a family estate from Remigny in the southern Côte de Beaune, run by brothers Pascal and Laurent Borgeot. The domain is known for its careful relationship with the terroir of Santenay and Maranges and for its move to organic farming. The wines stand out for their authenticity and their good quality-to-price ratio at the Burgundian level.
Vineyard Story
Clos de la Comme is the largest Premier Cru of Santenay, around 18 hectares, on mid-slopes with limestone-clay soils. The vineyard has good east and south-east exposure, which ensures even ripening and the preservation of fresh acidity. The terroir shapes wines of pronounced minerality and a red-fruit profile typical of the southern Côte de Beaune.
