Vinification
The wine is made from Ull de Llebre (the local Catalan name for Tempranillo) in the natural-winemaking style characteristic of Partida Creus. Fermentation uses native yeasts only, with no or minimal added sulfur. The approach aims at the fullest expression of the terroir and varietal identity.
Winery Story
Partida Creus is the project of Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa, an Italian architect couple from Piedmont who settled in the village of Bonastre (Baix Penedès) in 2000. They revive near-extinct native Catalan grape varieties and make vivid natural wines without additives; each cuvée carries a two-letter name.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie in the municipality of Bonastre in Tarragona province, Catalonia, at around 300 metres above sea level. The soils are limestone-clay, the vines are old, ensuring low yields and concentration. A Mediterranean climate with cool night-time breezes gives the wines freshness and a lively acidity.
