Vinification
Furmint from Fruška Gora is a rare choice for Serbia, reflecting the winery's interest in varieties unusual for the region. The wine is aged in neutral vessels to preserve varietal purity and freshness. The style aims at expressing Furmint's minerality and lively acidity.
Winery Story
Sagmeister is a small Serbian winery on the slopes of Fruška Gora, one of Serbia's oldest viticultural areas. The estate emphasises varieties unconventional for the region and an individual approach to each cuvée. The name 'Devas' refers to archaic mythological imagery, underlining the bond with the land and tradition.
Vineyard Story
Fruška Gora is a low mountain ridge in Vojvodina where viticulture has been documented since Roman times. A moderately continental climate with the influence of the Danube valley creates conditions for slow ripening and the preservation of acidity in white varieties. On these soils Furmint takes on a characteristic minerality and a lively texture.
