Vinification
Furmint from Fruška Gora is fermented in a way that preserves the variety's natural acidity. Vinification is geared towards freshness and the minerality characteristic of Serbia's hilly terroir. Ageing is minimal, in order to underline the wine's primary fruit profile.
Winery Story
Sagmeister is a small Serbian winery on the slopes of Fruška Gora, working with local and international grape varieties. The producer pays particular attention to terroir expression and minimal intervention through the winemaking process. The winery is known for its experimental approach to varieties unconventional for Serbia.
Vineyard Story
Fruška Gora is a unique mountain range in Vojvodina, surrounded by the Pannonian plain, with a moderately continental climate and varied soils. Furmint here finds conditions similar to Hungarian appellations: limestone and clay soils provide a characteristic minerality. The altitude of the vineyards preserves the natural acidity.
