Vinification
Ex Vero II S is a cuvée of Sauvignon and Morillon (Chardonnay) from Styrian vineyards, vinified in a minimalist style with minimal intervention and low sulfite levels. Fermentation runs on native yeasts and ageing in neutral vessels preserves varietal purity and terroir character.
Winery Story
Werlitsch is the estate of Ewald Tscheppe in Southern Styria, one of Austria's pioneers of biodynamic and natural winemaking. His Ex Vero range ('from the true') comes from steep opok marl slopes and reflects the pursuit of an authentic expression of place and grape.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie in Southern Styria — a region known for its steep slopes and limestone-gneiss soils that shape a bright minerality. A continental climate with cold nights provides high acidity and the aromatic freshness of Sauvignon Blanc. Morillon (Chardonnay) in this region takes on a characteristic tension that sets it apart from Burgundian examples.
