Vinification
Andrea Calek is an adept of natural winemaking, and this cuvée is most made with minimal intervention: native-yeast fermentation, minimal sulfite addition or none at all. The style reflects the lively, direct character of Ardèche Syrah while preserving freshness and terroir expressiveness.
Winery Story
Andrea Calek is a Czech-born winemaker who settled in the Ardèche (southern Rhône), one of the landmark figures of the French natural movement. His estate works on biodynamic principles and full non-intervention in the cellar. Calek is known for expressive, living wines with character and minimal sulfur use.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie in the Ardèche on granite and limestone soils, under a continental climate with a southern influence. The vines are tended without synthetic inputs, in harmony with the natural cycle. The terroir gives Syrah a characteristic minerality and spice at a relatively moderate alcohol level.
