Vinification

The wine is made from Aligoté in the Bouzeron appellation — the only village appellation in Burgundy devoted exclusively to this grape. The winemaking typically involves careful fermentation with partial ageing in oak barrels or neutral vessels to preserve freshness and minerality. The style is light and lively, with an emphasis on pure fruit expression and bright acidity.

Winery Story

Chapuis & Chapuis is a small Burgundian estate working in the Côte Chalonnaise. The winemakers hold to a traditional Burgundian approach, paying particular attention to terroir expression and varietal identity. The estate specialises in the Côte Chalonnaise appellations, including the iconic Bouzeron.

Vineyard Story

Bouzeron is the only Burgundian appellation created specifically for Aligoté, which itself speaks to the exceptional quality of the local terroir. The vineyards lie on the limestone and marl soils of the Côte Chalonnaise, lending the wine its characteristic minerality and liveliness. The microclimate of Bouzeron village allows Aligoté to ripen optimally while keeping high natural acidity.
