Vinification
The wine is made from Chardonnay grown in the Mâcon-Villages appellation on the limestone soils of southern Burgundy. Vinification is focused on preserving freshness and the purity of the fruit profile, with minimal oak use. The style is light and elegant, typical of affordable white Burgundy.
Winery Story
Remoissenet Père & Fils is one of Burgundy's oldest négociants, founded in Beaune in the 19th century. The house is known for its mature wine stocks and its skill in working with wines from various appellations of the region. In 2005 the company passed into American ownership, while preserving the Burgundian traditions of winemaking.
Vineyard Story
Mâcon-Villages is an appellation in southern Burgundy, the Mâconnais region, where Chardonnay grows on limestone and clay-limestone soils. The climate is slightly warmer than the Côte d'Or, giving the wines a riper fruit character while preserving Burgundian freshness. The vineyards sit on gentle, sun-exposed hills.
