Vinification
Grapes from the Rabource Premier Cru in Rully are fermented and aged in Burgundian barrels, mostly older, with minimal intervention. Domaine de Villaine follows a delicate approach, preserving the natural acidity and terroir character of the appellation. The cuvée's style highlights the purity and minerality of the Rully soils.
Winery Story
Domaine de Villaine belongs to Aubert de Villaine, long-time co-director of the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Based in Bouzeron, the estate stands for uncompromising quality and respect for Burgundian terroir. The estate works along biodynamic lines, aiming for the most precise expression of each plot.
Vineyard Story
The Rully appellation lies in the Côte Chalonnaise, south of the Côte de Beaune, on limestone-clay soils with a chalk subsoil. The Rabource plot is one of the finest Premier Crus in Rully, with good exposure and drainage that ensure the concentration and minerality of the fruit. A moderate 2020 climate allowed freshness and elegance to be preserved alongside ripe fruit notes.
