Vinification

The cuvée is produced from Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay and Verzenay, aged in oak barrels (mostly old) for texture without excess wood. Extended lees ageing (typically over five years) builds the wine's deep autolytic character. Dosage is minimal — at brut or extra-brut level — highlighting minerality and freshness.

Winery Story

Egly-Ouriet is a cult récoltant-manipulant in the village of Ambonnay, run by Francis Egly. The estate has built its reputation on an uncompromising approach: biodynamic farming, extended lees ageing and minimal cellar intervention. Egly-Ouriet's wines are considered among the most outstanding grower Champagnes, drawing enthusiasts from around the world.

Vineyard Story

The vineyards lie at the heart of Montagne de Reims — in the Grand Cru villages of Ambonnay and Verzenay. Soils rich in chalk and clay shape the estate's signature minerality and structure, and the average vine age exceeds 40 years, ensuring depth and concentration. A northern aspect adds the tension and freshness characteristic of the house style.
