Vinification
A traditional-method sparkling wine (méthode traditionnelle) from Pinot Noir and Zweigelt, with second fermentation in bottle and ageing on lees. The Extra Brut style assumes minimal dosage, highlighting natural acidity and the purity of the Kamptal terroir. The wine reflects Loimer's biodynamic philosophy.
Winery Story
Fred Loimer is one of the pioneers of biodynamic winemaking in Austria, having moved to Demeter certification in the early 2000s. His estate in Langenlois (Kamptal) is regarded as a benchmark in the region, producing wines of vivid terroir character. Loimer is an active advocate of sustainable farming and the natural approach in winemaking.
Vineyard Story
Kamptal lies along the Kamp river in north-eastern Austria, marked by a sharp climatic contrast — hot days and cool nights — that delivers exceptional acidity and aromatic complexity. Loess and crystalline-rock soils give the wines their characteristic minerality and freshness. Loimer's vineyards are worked entirely by hand, following the biodynamic calendar.
