Vinification
Malvasia Istriana grapes from historic Friulian vineyards ferment spontaneously on wild yeasts and age on fine lees to preserve freshness and texture. The style is emphatically mineral, without excess intervention, with minimal sulfite use.
Winery Story
I Clivi is the small family estate of Ferdinando Zanusso and his son Mario in the hills of Friuli (Collio and Colli Orientali). Farmed organically around old vines of native varieties, it is regarded as a benchmark for pure, terroir-driven whites of north-east Italy.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie on the hills of Friuli at around 150 metres above sea level, on soils of Pontian origin — a mix of limestone, clay and marl. The Malvasia Istriana vines are over 40 years old, providing deep minerality and concentration at naturally moderate yields.
