Vinification
Jean Foillard is one of the pioneers of the natural-wine movement in Beaujolais. Grapes from the Fleurie appellation are fermented by semi-carbonic maceration, with no added sulfur or only the smallest of doses. The wine stands out for its fruit purity and a lively, unfussy style.
Winery Story
Jean Foillard is a legendary winemaker from Morgon, one of Beaujolais's 'Gang of Four', founders of the natural-wine movement in the region. His approach is built on minimal intervention, biodynamic farming and respect for the terroir. Foillard's wines are considered a benchmark of true Beaujolais.
Vineyard Story
Fleurie is one of the ten Beaujolais crus, located on pink granite soils in the central part of the region. The vineyards are noted for a particular elegance and floral character, thanks to the unique soil composition and a mild microclimate. It is here that Gamay reveals itself in its most refined and aromatic expression.
