Vinification

Karim Vionnet is a natural winemaker working with Gamay in Beaujolais using whole-cluster carbonic or semi-carbonic maceration. The wine is aged with minimal intervention, without excessive filtration, with low sulfite doses.

Winery Story

Karim Vionnet is a small independent natural winemaker from Beaujolais, working in an organic style. He keeps to minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar, expressing the pure terroir of his appellations.

Vineyard Story

Chénas is one of the ten Beaujolais crus, located in the north-west of the region near the border with Moulin-à-Vent. The soils here are mainly granite and schist, giving Gamay a structure and minerality atypical of most red Beaujolais.
