Vinification
A Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs from Chardonnay grown on the chalk soils of the Côte des Blancs. Fermentation and ageing take place in barrels and tanks with no malolactic fermentation, preserving lively acidity. Dosage is minimal, allowing the chalk terroir to express itself fully.
Winery Story
Laherte Frères is a récoltant-manipulant from the village of Chavot-Courcourt near Épernay, a family estate with more than a century of history. Aurélien Laherte, who took the reins of the winery in 2006, moved the estate to organic and biodynamic farming and earned recognition among lovers of natural Champagne. The Lahertes work with multiple micro-parcels, building a line of terroir cuvées with minimal intervention.
Vineyard Story
Nature de Craie ('nature of chalk') captures the essence of Premier Cru chalk terroirs — the grapes come from sites with deep chalk subsoils characteristic of the Côte des Blancs. Chalk provides exceptional drainage and a unique mineral exchange, lending the wine pronounced salinity and verticality. Biodynamic farming deepens the bond between the vine and the living soil.
