Vinification
An extra-brut Blanc de Blancs from Chardonnay grown on the chalk soils of Vertus and Oger. Vinification with no added sugar at dosage (extra brut), and partial barrel ageing of the base wine. Larmandier-Bernier practices biodynamic farming and minimal intervention in the cellar, preserving the living character of the terroir.
Winery Story
Larmandier-Bernier is a cult grower-Champagne estate in Vertus, run by Pierre Larmandier. The estate moved to certified biodynamic farming in the early 2000s and became one of the pioneers of the 'living Champagne' movement. It is considered a benchmark of the terroir style in the Côte des Blancs.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie on the chalk hills of the Côte des Blancs — chiefly in Vertus, Oger and Cramant, classified as Grand and Premier Cru. Deep chalk delivers exceptional minerality and freshness, while biodynamic viticulture supports the living microbiology of the soil and carries it through into the wine.
