Vinification
Ronco Severo's Pinot Grigio is made in a classic Friulian style with an emphasis on preserving freshness and terroir expressiveness. The grapes are hand-picked and fermentation runs at a controlled temperature in stainless steel. Minimal intervention lets the variety fully unfold.
Winery Story
Ronco Severo is a small family estate in Friuli, founded by Stefano Novello, one of the most respected winemakers in the region. The estate holds to principles of respectful farming and minimal cellar intervention, aiming to convey the authentic character of the Friulian terroir. Ronco Severo's wines are regularly cited by critics as benchmarks of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia style.
Vineyard Story
The vineyards lie in the commune of Prepotto at the heart of DOC Friuli Colli Orientali, on hilly slopes with ponca soils — the characteristic mix of limestone and marl. This terroir gives the wines a bright minerality and refreshing acidity. The altitude and Alpine night temperatures provide slow ripening and the preservation of aromatics.
